Coffee influencer Noah Stern has left his fans divided after sharing a recipe that includes adding butter to his coffee.
Sharing a video of this to Noah wrote: "Should you put butter in coffee? It actually works pretty well, especially in syrup form. The fat in the butter takes milk, which is already creamy, and levels it up a notch. This tasted so rich and made for a tasty coffee."
In the video, he added that this was one of the best coffee pairings he's found recently, and explaining the steps, he continued: "Add half a stick of butter into a saucepan over medium heat and let it brown for a few minutes.

"Then add in one cup of water, one cup of brown sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. If you let that simmer for a few minutes you're left with a delicious brown butter syrup.
"Browning the butter brings out nutty, caramel-like flavours, adding complexity and depth to the syrup that complements the coffee's natural flavours.
"My favourite use for this syrup is by adding it directly into the milk before steaming. When you froth the mik with the syrup, the syrup's sugar disperses evenly, adding a consistent level of sweetness that's not overpowering."
Those who saw Noah's video were left rather divided in the comments, with some sharing their plans to follow this recipe. One wrote: "I think you’re a genius. Trying this over the weekend."
And another commented: "I’ve always just put a lil spoonful of butter in there [laughing emoji] but the browned butter sounds really good!"
However, not everyone was quite so blown away with the idea, with one commenter quipping: "Why stop at butter? Let’s throw in some garlic and a bit of oregano."
While a second added: "lol, you didn't add butter to your coffee, you added a brown sugar syrup to it. This is no different than going to Dutch Bros and having them pump your latte full of different syrups..."
And a third simply commented: "we are 2 secs away from fried coffee.... they must be stopped."
