Enzo Maresca could do something no Chelsea manager has ever done and it may lead to his downfall

Supporters at Stamford Bridge are starting to turn. Fans have protested against the BlueCo and Clearlake Capital leadership already this season and now things are starting to turn against Maresca and his football style too.

Defeat, however, and victory for Forest over Spurs on Monday Night Football would see the Blues slip six points off the Champions League spots with only five games remaining.

Defeat at Fulham would be even more damaging than that for Maresca and could see the supporters turn on him even more as the season edges towards its conclusion.

No Chelsea manager has ever lost both games to Fulham in the same league season - Premier League or otherwise.

The only time Chelsea have lost twice to the Whites in the same season was in 1975, but one of those defeats came in the Anglo-Scottish Cup, with the other coming in the Division Two clash.

Fulham won the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge 2-1 on Boxing Day - their first win at the Bridge since 1979. Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz bagged late goals to turn the clash on its head after Cole Palmer had given the hosts the lead in the first half.

Fulham actually have the same number of points as Chelsea in the league in 2025, so it is not a given that they will complete the double over their rivals, but they are eighth in the form guide over the last ten games for matches at home, while Chelsea are 16th in the same away league form table.

If the Whites do indeed complete the double over the Blues, it would be a hammer blow for Maresca and the fans will likely not let him forget that he was the only manager to have failed to get anything from two league games against their closest rivals.
