Escape to the Country's unusual property hunt puts 'pressure' on BBC's Nicki Chapman

BBC's Nicki Chapman admitted to feeling the heat on Monday's Escape to the Country episode, as she helped Jayne and David, who had already relocated from Basingstoke to Herefordshire, find their perfect home.

The couple, who were living in a rented cottage near the Welsh/English border for a year, were ready to buy after renting to make sure they loved the area.

David, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease two years ago, shared that his condition had altered his life view, prompting the search for a home with enough land for a holiday let.

With £575,000 to spend, Nicki joined them to start their property hunt, remarking: "At this point, I normally say, 'Welcome to Herefordshire'. But, it's slightly different because this is already your home isn't it?"

Jayne confirmed their love for the new location, saying: "We've been here for just over a year now and have fallen in love with the place."

When asked about missing Hampshire, David noted: "It's the people that you miss, not so much the area. But, it's time for a change and obviously, with your help and assistance, we need the experts to come in to show us some lovely properties."

The presenter exclaimed: "Yeah, I am feeling slightly pressured on this one!"

Jayne and David divulged that they've scoured through 10 different properties and even took steps towards purchasing one prior to the festive season, but their hopes were dashed just before , reports .

As their property hunt commenced with Nicki's guidance, the pair were astounded by the array of impressive homes on display.

Nearing the episode's conclusion, the BBC host admitted her uncertainty about their final choice, commenting: "Every house that we've seen, we've left on a high so you've got to put us out of our misery! I honestly, genuinely don't know."

During the heart-to-heart, Jayne disclosed their mutual affection for a distinct abode an expansive underground train station conversion.

David shared his sentiments, saying: "It's a lovely property, it's got everything that we need. Obviously, with planning permission with reference to that, f we can do what we want to do with it, I think that'll be the one for us."

Adding to the excitement, Jayne enthused: "I just love the idea of putting a carriage on the station platform!". She also applauded the current state of the property and the quality of its refurbishment.

Closing the instalment, the BBC host revealed that Jayne and David were in the process of arranging another visit to the enticing mystery house.
