The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is set to grant equivalence to 10th and 12th-grade certificates issued by all education boards across India. The Ministry of Education has officially notified this decision in the e-Gazette, aiming to simplify admissions and employment processes for students nationwide.

Simplified Migration:
Students will now experience easier transfers (migration) between different school education boards across the country. Certificates recognized by NCERT will have universal validity across India, ensuring inter-board transparency and consistency. -
Responsible Authority:
The responsibility for determining equivalence has been assigned to NCERT under the National Assessment Center – PARAKH, established under National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. PARAKH will ensure that the equivalence process is academically robust and transparent, maintaining high educational standards. -

Replacement of Previous System:
This new notification replaces the earlier system of 15 November 2021, where equivalence responsibilities were with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
