"Backward Classes being trampled by Reddys," alleges Telangana minister Konda Surekha's daughter

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 16 (ANI): Konda Sushmitha, daughter of Telangana Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, has levelled allegations against the state government, stating that her mother and father were being "harassed".
"My mother and father are being targeted by the state government," Sushmitha said.
These remarks come after police visited Telangana Minister Konda Surekha's residence to arrest her former Office on Special Duty (OSD), Sumanth, last night over corruption allegations. It has also been alleged that Sumanth threatened someone with a pistol.
Sushmitha said, "My mother is a minister, and look how they're treating us. We don't understand what we've done wrong. There are murder attempts on us, and this is a murder attempt. A lady constable came here, and I'm not sure if she was an SI or CI. They're not just going after TRS, they're targeting our residence and our women."

She said that the former OSD Sumanth was terminated by the Telangana government without any explanation.
"Our OSD, Sumanth, was terminated yesterday without any explanation. The police came here saying Sumanth was in our house, but they didn't have an arrest warrant. They came in, and I told the Task Force CI to bring a warrant if they wanted to take him," the daughter of Minister Surekha added.
"We received information that Jubilee Hills police are on their way here. Sumanth is not a politician, and he doesn't hold any position," she added.
Sushmitha accused the Revanth Reddy government of "targeting" her mother and said that Reddys in the state were "trampling Backward Classes" despite Congress MP Rahul Gandhi talking about them.
"What's going on? They're targeting my mother. Rahul Gandhi is shouting about BCs, but here, all the Reddys are trampling BCs. We received information about Sumanth's termination, and now they're alleging that he threatened someone from Deccan Cements with a pistol. I don't know where the pistol is. They're trying to frame us because my father is a retired Naxal," she said.
"I have seen police from a young age, and I know they can do anything. I am worried about my father's security. I suspect they're going to book a false case against my father. Vemnarender Reddy told us that Uttam Kumar Reddy gave a complaint against Sumanth, but when we asked Uttam Kumar Reddy, he said he didn't file any complaint," she added.
Sushmitha claimed CM Reddy's involvement in the matter.
"There's compulsory CM involvement in this matter. How can this happen without the CM's intervention? Why are they targeting a BC lady? My father is the first MLC in the entire country. I'm asking why the gunmen are for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's brothers," she said. (ANI)
