The 2025 World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos has become a platform for India to present its transformative vision for the future. Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw represented India, unveiling a roadmap that aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India’ and sustainable development. India’s participation at Davos this year has drawn global attention, not only for its ambitious goals but also for its focus on global collaborations and technology integration.
India’s Vision: A Global Benchmark for Progress
In his keynote address, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized how India’s commitment to global best practices is driving modernization and innovation across sectors. Highlighting the focus on infrastructure diagnostics and operational efficiency, the minister referred to collaborative efforts with Swiss Federal Railways to set new benchmarks in the railway sector. India’s partnerships with leading SMEs like Rhomberg Sersa and Stadler Rail were also a part of the discussion, focusing on building a sustainable and technologically advanced rail system for India.
The India Pavilion at Davos stood as a symbol of progress, displaying the country’s efforts in renewable energy, AI, and frontier technologies. The pavilion’s design reflected India’s commitment to the theme of the WEF 2025: “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age,” showcasing innovations that contribute to a smarter, more sustainable world.
Transforming Indian Railways
India’s railways, which serve as the backbone of its transportation infrastructure, are undergoing a major transformation. At Davos, India showcased its efforts to adopt smart rail solutions, leveraging advanced engineering and digital technologies to create a more efficient and sustainable rail system. This includes the manufacturing of double-decker trains, which will significantly enhance passenger experiences, and a focus on sustainable practices that support the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.
Advancing PM Modi’s Vision
India’s participation at Davos 2025 also highlighted the ongoing success of Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital Bharat.’ Collaborations with Swiss technologies are expected to boost India’s manufacturing capabilities and global competitiveness. The nation’s focus on economic and diplomatic progress is strengthening its position as a leader of the Global South, opening new avenues for international collaboration.
Aligning with Global Priorities
Davos 2025 presented a unique opportunity to align India’s growth trajectory with five key global themes: Reimagining Growth, Intelligent Industries, Investing in People, Safeguarding the Planet, and Rebuilding Trust. India’s emphasis on renewable energy, digital transformation, and skill development is perfectly in sync with these global priorities, making the country a key player in shaping the future of the world.
India’s Leadership on the Global Stage
