Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali was found dead inside her apartment in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on Tuesday. According to police officials, the 32-year-old had been living alone in a rented flat.. Her body was discovered in a severely decomposed state, and officials estimate she had died nearly two weeks prior to the discovery.

According to images.dawn, the Gizri police, accompanied by court orders to vacate the flat due to non-payment of rent, arrived at the location around 3:15 pm. When no one responded to repeated knocks, officers broke the lock and entered. Inside, they found her body on the floor. A forensic team was called to collect evidence, and the body was later sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem.

Unpaid Rent Led to Court Action
Humaira had reportedly stopped paying rent in 2024, which prompted the landlord to approach the court. Following legal directions, the police were dispatched to enforce the eviction. South Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mahzoor Ali said initial findings do not suggest foul play. The apartment’s iron gate, wooden door, and balcony were all locked from the inside, further indicating that no one else was involved.

Post-mortem examination was carried out on Tuesday night. Police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed noted that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, and the cause of death has been “reserved” pending detailed forensic analysis. Investigators are currently trying to trace her family using her mobile records.

According to Geo News, neighbours had become suspicious after noticing a foul smell coming from the flat and a lack of activity for several days. Some reports suggest the police were alerted by concerned residents as early as 3 am on Tuesday, but formal action was taken later in the day.
