Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant was fined Rs 24 lakh by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday for slow over rate. His team was defeated by 54 runs in the match played against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede. After this, Lucknow's net run rate became -0.325 and the team is at the sixth position with 10 points.

Apart from Pant, the team was also fined.
IPL issued a statement giving information about the action taken on Pant. It was told that the star wicketkeeper-batsman has been fined for the second time for a slow over-rate. At the same time, his team will have to pay six lakh rupees or 25 percent of the match fee. IPL said that since this was his team's second offense of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with minimum over-rate offenses, Pant was fined Rs 24 lakh. The rest of the playing XI, including the impact player, will be fined either Rs six lakh or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is lower.
