Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A youth was booked for abetment to suicide of his girlfriend in Simrol area. The 21-year-old woman, heartbroken after being betrayed in love, committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance.
The deceased was identified as Harshita Shinde. She consumed some poisonous substance on November 8.
During investigation and after recording statements of her family members, it came to light that she was in a relationship with one Shubham Shinde of Khargone district and wanted to marry him. Initially, he agreed for the marriage but later reneged on his promise. His denial made her feel betrayed leading her to commit suicide.
The police registered a case against the accused under section 108 of the BNS and further investigation is underway.

In a seperate incident, 52-year-old man committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance allegedly due to distress caused by deteriorating eyesight in Chhatripura police station area on Monday.
He had been struggling with vision problems and had been troubled by his condition.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Manoj, son of Mahesh, a resident of Lodhipura. Family members said that Manoj had been depressed due to his worsening eyesight.
One of his eyes had been damaged during his teenage years while playing with glass marbles and for the past two years, he experienced vision loss in the other eye as well. On Monday evening, distressed over his illness, he consumed some poisonous substance.
When he began vomiting, his family rushed him to the hospital in critical condition where he died during treatment.
