School Incident: A 16-year-old Class 10 student at Som Lalit School in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad, is in serious condition after apparently jumping from the fourth floor during recess time on July 24.

Around 12:30 p.m., classmates saw the girl walking towards the building's parapet and tried to stop her. "One of her friends held her hand to try to stop her, but she broke free and jumped before any teacher could get involved." Even though they tried, she jumped over the edge and hurt her head badly, got a concussion, and broke several bones in her arms and legs.

At first, EMRI 108 took her to a neighbouring hospital. Later, she was sent to a private hospital in Thaltej, where she is still unconscious in the ICU and in critical condition.

According to the media reports, police in Navrangpura have opened a medico-legal complaint and are looking into it. Inspector A. A. Desai said that it is too soon to determine what caused the tragedy and that there is no reason to suspect foul play at this time. Authorities are looking into every possible angle by talking to classmates, teachers, and school staff, as well as looking at CCTV footage from the school.

School officials stated that they provided the police with all the available CCTV footage. According to Pragnesh Shastri, the institution's managing trustee, the girl had been going to Som Lalit for the past five years. He stressed that she hadn't said anything was wrong and that there had been no casual conversations that made it seem like she was in trouble.

Because her situation is still life-threatening, the investigation is still looking into what made her take such an extreme measure. In the meantime, parents and the school community are waiting for more information. Once the student's health improves, the authorities want to question her to get more information about her background and possible triggers.
