If you are travelling on the highway by putting another car's FASTag in your car to save toll, then be careful. Now this trickery can prove to be costly. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport (MoRTH) have made the rules regarding FASTag more strict. Now only one FASTag will be valid for each vehicle and if you are caught using a tag in another vehicle, not only will you be fined, but your FASTag will also be blacklisted. This means that next time at the toll plaza, neither your tag will be scanned, nor will the vehicle move forward, and on the contrary, double charge may be levied.

Only one Fastag will be valid in one car

FASTag, which was implemented for smooth and fast travel through toll plazas on national highways, has come under strict surveillance. The government has made it clear that only one FASTag will be valid for one vehicle and it will be considered illegal to use it in another vehicle. If found doing so, that tag will be immediately blacklisted. This means that no payment will be accepted from that tag, and you may have to pay double the toll.

Violating One Vehicle – One FASTag may result in the blacklisting of the account

While implementing the 'One Vehicle - One FASTag' rule last year, the government had said that many vehicle owners try to save on toll by repeatedly installing the same tag in different vehicles. This not only disrupts the toll system but also affects the security and transparency of the tag system. From now on, any such tag will be immediately blacklisted by putting it in the category of "Loose tag".

Therefore, if you have two vehicles, it is necessary to get a separate FASTag for each one. Every FASTag must be linked to the vehicle number, and the same information is recorded in the toll system. The vehicle details are revealed as soon as the QR code of the tag is scanned. In such a situation, putting a tag in another vehicle will no longer be considered a fraud, but a direct violation of the rules.
