In India, public and private companies like Reliance, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum, and Essar give licenses to open petrol pumps.
For this, you need land in a fixed area. If you do not have your land, then you can also open a petrol pump by taking land on rent. For this, you must have an agreement on that land. If you apply to open a petrol pump on a state highway or national highway, then for that you need land ranging from 1200 square meters to 1600 square meters.
How much does it cost?
It also costs a lot to open a petrol pump. For this, first of all, you have to get online registration done. People from the general category have to pay Rs 8000 as a registration fee for petrol pump dealerships. Whereas for people from the OBC category, this fee is Rs 4000. Along with this, for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe, this fee is Rs 2000.
Apart from this, if you want to open a petrol pump in a rural area, then for that you have to invest 15 to 20 lakh rupees. Out of this, the company returns about 5 percent of the amount to you. Whereas if you want to open a petrol pump in an urban area, then for that you have to pay 30 to 35 lakh rupees.
