Major Railway Projects AnnouncedIn a major infrastructure push, PM Modi:
- Laid the foundation stone for the Churu–Sadulpur railway line (58 km).
- Dedicated several completed electrification projects:
- Suratgarh–Phalodi (336 km)
- Phulera–Degana (109 km)
- Udaipur–Himmatnagar (210 km)
- Phalodi–Jaisalmer (157 km)
- Samdari–Barmer (129 km)
These initiatives are part of a broader effort to strengthen Rajasthan's connectivity and boost regional development.
Railway Modernization Across IndiaHighlighting India’s transformation in the railway sector, PM Modi announced:
- More than 1,300 railway stations are being modernized under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
- Over 100 Amrit Bharat stations are already completed.
- The government is investing six times more in rail infrastructure than in previous years.
- Vande Bharat Express trains are now running on 70 routes, enhancing speed and passenger comfort.
- Dedicated freight corridors and the country’s first bullet train project are progressing rapidly.
He noted that the pace of infrastructure development in India has surprised the world and is a reflection of the country’s growing capabilities and ambitions.
Reference to Operation SindoorWhile showcasing development milestones, PM Modi also delivered a strong national security message. Referring to Operation Sindoor, he stated:
“On the 22nd (April), in just 22 minutes, the terrorist hideouts were wiped out. The country has seen what happens when sindoor turns into gunpowder.”
The reference to the Pahalgam terror attack and India's swift military response was a powerful reminder of the government’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism and commitment to protecting national integrity.
