A teenage girl is feared to have fallen into a major British dam.
Emergency services including the , ambulance and fire crews rushed to the Baitings Reservoir near Ripponden, West Yorkshire, shortly after 1.17pm this afternoon, following a report that a teen fell into the water. The girl couldn't be located during the afternoon, and underwater search teams are still at the scene as efforts to locate her continue into the evening.
A spokesperson said: "Shortly after 1.17pm this afternoon (28/5) police were called to a report a girl had fallen into water at Baitings Dam near Ripponden. Initially police, fire and ambulance were deployed to the scene, but the teenage girl could not be located. Searches are continuing this evening by underwater search teams, to try and locate her."
