Jake Paul could be forced to give away a whopping $1million after shaking on a daring wager with his former opponent Mike Tyson.
In what was a highly-anticipated clash last November, the boxing stars squared off in an event that Netflix reported was watched by a staggering 60 million households, with a peak of 65 million live streams. However, the dust-up failed to live up to the hype - with Paul going on to win on points.
Despite the staggering viewing statistics for the headliner, it was the co-main event between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano that really captivated the fight fans. Taylor, having narrowly edged out a split decision victory first time around in 2022, once again reigned supreme on points to go 2-0 up in the series.
With eyes now turning to the trilogy bout set for Friday night - with interest through the roof - it won't just be pride on the line, especially for Paul. The rematch was the most-watched women’s sporting event in US history, and ahead of the trilogy, many are once again set to tune in, but there is a little bit more on the line, particularly for Paul, reports All Out Fighting.
In a video uploaded to Instagram, Paul confirmed that he and Tyson have a bet for the main event. "Mike! Wassup?" Said Paul. "Man, a lot of people are saying that Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor's fight was better than ours." Tyson quickly replied "Oh yeah?"
Paul quickly cut in and replied: "They're fighting again this weekend!" Without hesitation, Tyson stated: "I have got Katie (Taylor)." Unsurprisingly, the 'Problem Child' is backing MVP star Serrano. "Do you wanna bet?" Replied Paul. After a brief pause, Tyson chuckled and agreed to the wager. "All right. If Katie wins then you get $1m, but if Amanda wins, then I get $1m." Tyson let out a quick cough before agreeing: "I like that!" The pair then jokingly agreed to a dinner date at some point after the fight.

Ahead of the much-anticipated clash, Taylor is buzzing about topping the bill at another major event. Speaking to RTE, she said: "I feel great. Everything is going to plan, thank God. I feel better than I did before the last fight. From week to week, I am getting sharper and feeling stronger in training camp. I'm excited for fight night. What an amazing opportunity to fight at the Garden again, and on Netflix. When I first laced up a pair of gloves as a nine- or ten-year-old, I don't think anybody would have imagined I would be in this position today. I'm so grateful for this amazing journey! To headline such an impressive all-female card is just remarkable."
The 39-year-old added: "You always must make little adjustments for every fight. It's the person who adjusts the better in these three clashes that wins the fights. It's all about adapting to the challenge, and I think we're on the right track. I out-boxed her the first time and out-fought her the second time, so I feel like I am in a good position for the third fight. Right now, I'm staying laser-focused and doing what I must do every single day in training. I've been giving it my all, and I'm going to be giving my all again on flight night."
