Liverpool have made a £35million bid for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. The Reds, who initially offered £35m following the Community Shield earlier this month, are also offering a 10 percent sell on clause.
But the Eagles have made their own counter offer, having been holding out for £40m throughout the past month. Instead, they're ready to deal at £35m up front, and another £5m in add-ons. They're pushing hard to find a replacement too.
Guehi has one year left on his contract and Palace do not want to lose him for nothing next summer. But they also know how valuable he is to them and have been holding out for the right deal on a player whom they rejected a £70m offer from Newcastle last summer.

Interestingly, one of the players Palace are keen on to replace Guehi is Liverpool's own England defender, Joe Gomez. Eagles chiefs have intimated that they are keen on taking Gomez - who came through Charlton Athletic's academy - back to London with a season-long loan deal mooted.
However, have no intention of letting him go. His versatility is seen as an asset and Arne Slot does not want to let him leave.
One problem for Palace is there is a difference of opinion over what's best for the club between it's CEO, Steve Parrish, and head coach Oliver Glasner.
Despite the sale of Eberechi Eze to Arsenal for £68m, Parrish has made clear that without a new deal, they have little choice other than to sell Guehi at their designated price in the coming days. But Glasner insists that the club must keep the ex-Chelsea centre-back at the club, declaring: "It is not possible to find a Marc Guehi replacement who can play straight in the Premier League as a starter."
Gomez would have offered a solution on that front, despite the injury issues that have stalled his progress somewhat in recent years.
