For the first time in Badaun, a unique case of taking bribe has come to light. Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch manager Rajiv Gangwar and peon Dayaram have been arrested by the CBI's anti-corruption team. It is alleged that both of them had taken a bribe of Rs 38 thousand for approving a loan under the Chief Minister's Youth Entrepreneur Scheme.

After this, the team from Lucknow arrested Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch manager Rajiv Gangwar and peon Dayaram for taking bribe. Both had taken the money in the form of cheque instead of cash. The peon deposited Rs 38,000 in the youth's account and then took the cheque after getting him to sign it.

Had applied for Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Scheme

Devvrat had applied to the District Industry Center to get the benefit of Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana. His application was approved from there and as per his wish, the file was sent to the PNB branch of Sahaswan. According to Devvrat, the bank peon Dayaram demanded a bribe of Rs. 5000. On April 25, the matter was reported to the CBI Anti Corruption Team.

Filled the amount in check

On the instructions of CBI officers, Devvrat went to give Rs 38,000 as bribe to bank manager Rajiv Gangwar on Wednesday evening. Instead of taking cash, the manager asked him to contact peon Dayaram. He too deposited the money in Devvrat's account instead of taking it in hand. After this, he made him sign a cheque after filling the amount in it.

The peon took the cheque to the manager. Meanwhile, the CBI team caught him. The team got the cheque, but it took two hours to find the 38 thousand rupees sent as bribe. Later, when the cash counter was counted, five hundred rupee notes with the same numbers were recovered. SSP Dr. Brijesh Kumar Singh said that after interrogation, the team took manager Rajiv and peon Dayaram to Lucknow.
