New Delhi : A three-match ODI series is to be played between India and Australia. Before this series, the Australian team has made a major change in its squad. This change is very important for the Australian team.Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has been ruled out of the ODI series against India. He has suffered a minor side injury. Marnus Labuschagne has been included in the team in his place. Cricket Australia has taken this decision as a precaution, because Green is very important to Australia's Ashes plans.
Green needs to be given restCameron Green will miss the ODIs scheduled for October 19, 23, and 25. However, he is expected to play in Western Australia's next Sheffield Shield match, starting on October 28. This was his first match as a bowler since undergoing back surgery last year, where he took one wicket in four overs. Cricket Australia has clarified that this injury is not related to the surgery he underwent last October.
"Green will undergo a short period of rehabilitation and is on track to return for the third round of the Sheffield Shield to continue his preparations for the Ashes," Cricket Australia said in a statement. Labuschagne has been in excellent form. He has scored four centuries for his home club Queensland, two of which came in the 50-over format. He was initially omitted from the squad after scoring just two runs in the home ODI series against South Africa in August.
With this change, Australia has made three changes for the first match of the series against India. Josh Philippe has replaced Josh Inglis, who is still recovering from a calf injury. Adam Zampa will miss the first match in Perth due to family reasons. Zampa, Carey, and Inglis will join the team from the second match.
Australia's squad is as follows: Mitchell Marsh (captain), Xavier Bartlett, Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Matthew Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Owen, Josh Philippe, Matthew Renshaw, Matthew Short, Mitchell Starc.
Replaced for the second ODI: Adam Zampa, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis.
