After steadily making her mark in Bollywood, Janhvi Kapoor is now making waves in the South Indian film industry, following in the footsteps of her legendary mother Sridevi. While Sridevi began her cinematic journey in the South before conquering Hindi cinema, Janhvi seems to be doing the reverse—and with remarkable impact. The young actress, who debuted in Telugu cinema with Jr. NTR’s Devara, is now part of two major South projects: Peddi with Ram Charan and AA22 with Allu Arjun.
Having impressed audiences and producers alike, Janhvi is now commanding hefty fees for her South ventures. For Devara, she reportedly charged ₹5 crore. But her rising popularity has prompted her to raise her fee further—demanding ₹6 crore for Peddi, and a whopping ₹7 crore for Allu Arjun’s much-anticipated film AA22. Though the makers of AA22 are in talks to negotiate, Janhvi is standing firm on her quoted price, a sign of her growing confidence and market value.
Janhvi's increasing association with South superstars also signals a strategic career move. By balancing Bollywood and South Indian cinema, she is expanding her reach across the national audience, much like several other pan-India stars of recent years.
In Bollywood, Janhvi’s 2024 release Uljhan received appreciation for her performance, even though the film did not fare well commercially. She currently has two Hindi films lined up—Param Sundari opposite Sidharth Malhotra, and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari alongside Varun Dhawan, slated for release in September 2025.
With four high-profile films across industries, and a steep upward curve in her remuneration, Janhvi Kapoor is clearly asserting her place among the top tier of young Indian actresses. Whether it’s a period drama or a mass-action entertainer, she’s proving she can command attention—and top billing—in any cinema space she enters.
