Lakshagruha was a building made of lacquer. It was built by the Kauravas to kill the Pandavas. Duryodhana made the Pandavas stay in this building and his plan was that when they would fall asleep in this building, they would be killed by setting it on fire.

However, the Pandavas came to know about this conspiracy and escaped through the secret tunnel. The Kauravas set fire to Lakshagraha and it was reduced to ashes. After this, all the Kauravas including Duryodhana and Dhritarashtra pretended to mourn and got the Pandavas cremated.

After this, the Pandavas saved their lives from the Lakhshagriha incident and started living in hiding in a city. This was Ekachkra city, the people here were very much suffering from the terror of the cannibal demon Bakasur.

Bakasura liked to eat human flesh and he used to come to the city and create havoc. The people of the city requested him very much that he should not come to the city and create havoc. Every day, one resident of the city would come to him in turn with his food. He would kill and eat that person too.

Every day 20 Khari Aghanai's worth of rice, dishes, 2 bulls, and a human being were sent to him as food, which he ate.

The Pandavas were also staying here with their mother Kunti in a Brahmin's house. When the turn of the Brahmin's house for the sacrifice came, everyone got nervous and could not decide who would go to Bakasur. But Kunti made a plan in her mind.

After this, he sent his powerful son Bhima to the demon, but he ate all the food of the demon himself. When the demon saw that Bhima is eating his food, the demon attacked him and Bhima killed him.
