The violent form of the Gen-Z movement in Nepal has surprised everyone. The curfew in Nepal has now been extended till Friday. Meanwhile, shocking news has come to light. A large number of prisoners were trying to escape from Ramechhap district jail in Nepal, on whom the army opened fire.
Around 12 to 13 prisoners were injured in firing by the Nepal Army to prevent a mass escape attempt by prisoners at the Ramechhap district jail on Thursday morning, according to the Kathmandu Post.
Prisoners trying to escape by breaking jailAccording to the information, Shyam Krishna Thapa, Chief District Magistrate of Ramechhap, Nepal, said that the prisoners in the jail broke several internal locks and tried to force open the main door. After this, the security forces started firing.
It was reported that about 12-13 prisoners were injured in the firing that started as soon as the army reached the gate. It is said that more than 800 prisoners are lodged in this jail located in ward 8 of Ramechhap Municipality of Nepal. Police confirmed that all the prisoners have been controlled and the situation is now under control.
Jail break incidents increased amid protestsAccording to the Kathmandu Post, attempts to break jail increased on Wednesday amid the ongoing Gen Z protests in the country. Security of the jail has been increased. Apart from this, Nepal Police and Armed Forces personnel have been deployed to protect the jail.
It is being told that citing an initial report released on Wednesday evening, more than 15,000 prisoners escaped from more than 25 jails across the country in the biggest jail break incident in the history of Nepal. As per the information so far, only a few prisoners have returned voluntarily or have been caught by the army once again.
