During the most recent instalment of 'FOX NFL Sunday,' a brief yet telling moment unfolded when Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suddenly found himself at the centre of discussion ahead of his maiden appearance against the New York Jets, where he faced a chorus of boos from his former supporters before kick-off.
Whilst former New York Giants icon Michael Strahan lauded Rodgers's potential influence with the Steelers, Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw visibly turned his attention elsewhere, creating an instant that swiftly became viral.
Strahan established the tone with authentic excitement, declaring: "I do think there's some magic left in Aaron Rodgers. Tom Brady, who is the GOAT, called Aaron Rodgers the greatest passer the league has ever seen.
"They bring in DK Metcalf, they have a defence, this team has never had a losing season under Mike Tomlin... I do think that Aaron Rodgers can make a difference."
However, when the camera switched to Bradshaw, the iconic quarterback and pundit seemed to divert his attention, possibly feeling uneasy with the effusive evaluation.
This marks not the first occasion Bradshaw's opinions on Rodgers have generated headlines.
Recently, he ridiculed the Steelers' pursuit of the veteran star as "a joke," proposing Rodgers should remain in California, quipping that he could "chew on bark and whisper to the gods" rather than competing in Pittsburgh. Rodgers subsequently responded with dignity, acknowledging that Bradshaw doesn't genuinely know him and suggesting Bradshaw's views stem from media portrayals.
"Terry's a legend. He's an absolute legend. He won four Super Bowls. He's had a legendary career in the media," Rodgers said during NFL Network's Back Together Weekend coverage.
"But Terry, like a lot of people, doesn't know me. So, he's got an idea of what he thinks about me based on what I've done, the documentary, what I've said, darkness retreat, whatever the hell you want to talk about."
On the pitch, Rodgers demonstrated he retains exceptional ability.
During his Steelers debut, he orchestrated a polished opening quarter, completing 5-of-7 passes for 93 yards and one touchdown, achieving a passer rating of 153.3.
His inaugural drive proved particularly impressive: a 71-yard, 10-play sequence that concluded with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Ben Skowronek.
The Steelers displayed composure and precision, precisely the type of beginning that indicates Rodgers possesses further brilliance.
His statistics reflect remarkable efficiency: 93 yards despite limited involvement and one passing touchdown, although he endured one sack.
However, the opener provided a glimpse of Pittsburgh's aspirations: Rodgers orchestrating a well-balanced attack from the very first play.
The opening drive featured powerful rushes from Kenny Gainwell and precise completions to Jonnu Smith and DK Metcalf, before a short touchdown delivery from Rodgers to Skowronek.
