are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window and could complete an overhaul of squad to make them ready for a title challenge in 2025-26. The Blues initially kept pace with but fell away quickly after Christmas with a .
Here is a potential Chelsea line-up for next season if four transfers are completed.
Goalkeeper: Robert Sanchez
Sanchez could be replaced in the summer, but Chelsea have been linked more strongly with outfield summer signings. The Spaniard has made some high-profile errors but has also kept the Blues in some games. With a lack of genuine quality available in the goalkeeping market ahead of the summer, Sanchez's inconsistency poses a big question for the Stamford Bridge hierarchy. Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic and Mike Penders are alternative options.
Defenders: Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Marc Guehi, Marc Cucurella
Chelsea are reportedly interested in bringing Guehi back to Stamford Bridge. Their academy graduate, who left for Crystal Palace in 2021, is set to be in demand this summer. The 24-year-old has only one year remaining on his Selhurst Park deal and Palace could finally cash in.
According to the , Chelsea could offer a player-exchange deal that would see Trevoh Chalobah, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Palace, go the other way. The Blues hope it will bring down Guehi's reported £70m valuation to just £40m, with Chalobah rated at £30m by his current club.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will be desperate for James and Fofana to experience a full season of good health. Fofana's hamstring, knee and muscular problems have seen him miss 114 games since he joined the Blues in 2022.
Midfielders: Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer
Palmer has been loosely linked with an exit ahead of the summer, including what would be a sensational return to Manchester City. But a departure seems extremely unlikely at this stage. The 22-year-old's recent form has been below-par but he will surely return to being a key player in the No. 10 role next term.
Caicedo has played in 98 per cent of Chelsea's Premier League minutes this season. The 23-year-old has been extremely impressive in a number of roles.
Fernandez could maybe benefit from slightly stronger competition in midfield but Chelsea seem unlikely to sell the £107m man any time soon.
Forwards: Estevao Willian, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens
Chelsea are to battle and for Delap this summer. Wide-ranging reports suggest the 22-year-old has a £30m release clause which becomes active if Ipswich are relegated - which seems extremely likely at this stage. With Nicolas Jackson struggling for regular goals, Delap could be the main man up front at Stamford Bridge next season.
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly expected to demand around £50m for Gittens this summer, according to . The 20-year-old, who is English and spent time in the academies of Chelsea, Reading and Man City, has been one of the most exciting players in the Bundesliga this season. The Blues will surely be interested given their issues on the left wing this season.
Estevao has impressed in Brazil this season and the £40m teenager could go straight into Chelsea's team. He will have fierce competition from Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto.
