In the most recent instalment of viewers were treated to the story of Andy and Jane.
The couple were making their long-awaited return to the UK after spending two decades in the Australian sunshine.
Before their search kicked off, host Nicki Chapman was informed of certain requirements the couple were looking for.
With a clear vision and a £525,000 budget, Andy and Jane were seeking a charming three-bedroom property with a garden that wouldn't be too much to handle and was close to amenities.
Their property hunt kicked off in Gloucestershire, where the first house immediately charmed them, prompting Nicki to eagerly plan more viewings in the picturesque county.
The journey took them to Hawkesbury Upton, where the second property's front garden earned high praise from the couple.
Upon seeing it, Nicki was keen to know their thoughts Jane commented:"Great! I'd like to see more."
Nicki guided them through the ground floor before they ventured upstairs on their own. Yet, their tour was brief as they quickly identified a potential deal-breaker.
Reconvening in the idyllic front garden, a slightly let down Nicki remarked: "Slightly disappointed, I was hoping you were going to take longer! It's so lovely just sitting there looking out into the garden, sun shining, how did we get on with upstairs?"
To which Jane responded candidly: "Yeah great! I think the third floor might be a bit of a problem, having that many stairs as we're getting older but I like the house."
The BBC host revealed the property matched their precise asking price, having been recently reduced in cost, , reports .
Andy remarked: "It is a nice size and it is a nice home, for sure. It's just whether the suitability for us, at the age we're at and we're not getting any younger, would allow us to stay in it for too many years. We're looking for a forever home really I suppose."
Appreciating their concerns, the hunt went on until the time came for Andy and Jane to come to a decision.
Ultimately, they were captivated by the mystery house and decided to delve deeper into the offering, vowing to keep the BBC show informed of their progress.
Escape to the Country continues weekdays on BBC One from 3pm.
