Eggs are one of the most versatile foods around, so it's no wonder they're so popular. Whether you like them poached with avocado toast or scrambled into fragrant fried rice, you know you're always going to have a delicious meal when eggs are involved.
And one of the tastiest ways to prepare your eggs is frying them in a pan until nice and crispy. However, without the right seasonings, this can end up tasting pretty bland and boring. Thankfully, one chef on social media has shared an easy way to level up your fried eggs, and it features one star ingredient that's incredibly versatile too.
The Foodie Diaries on Instagram, who often posts delicious recipes from all around the world, shared her secret to the perfect fried eggs in a viral video. She says that there's one ingredient that will really level them up and add a delicious spice - and it's the Korean pepper paste, gochujang.
Available from the world foods section of most good supermarkets, gochujang is a sweet and spicy ingredient that can be used in so many different dishes, from salmon and stir-fry to eggs and meat marinades. By adding it to the pan before cracking your eggs in, it creates a delicious base for your eggs to fry in, adding so much fire and flavour.
