Harvey Price has left fans emotional as he was once again seemingly overlooked by his famous father, Dwight Yorke, who publicly celebrated his younger son's 18th birthday after remaining silent on the birthday of his eldest, Harvey, whom he shares with model Katie Price. The 53-year-old footballer posted a heartfelt tribute on Facebook to his rarely-seen son, Orlando.
Alongside two photos of the teen, Yorke wrote: "Happy 18th birthday, son. Watching you grow into the amazing young man you are today has been the greatest gift of my life. I'm so proud of you, and all the beautiful things your future holds." But fans were quick to notice the glaring omission as Yorke made no mention of Harvey's birthday in May, nor has he posted about him on any previous milestone.
Harvey, who lives with autism, Prader-Willi syndrome, and septo-optic dysplasia, has been raised full-time by Price, with whom Yorke has had a famously strained co-parenting relationship.
The snub didn't go unnoticed. Furious fans flooded Yorke's comments section, branding him "a deadbeat dad" and accusing him of "selective parenting". One user wrote: "Yeah, what about Harvey? Call yourself a good Dad? I think not... big up to Katie. She is a fantastic mum and dad to Harvey." Another added: "How sad to recognise one son and have no contact with the other. You don't get to pick and choose which child to raise."
A third commenter echoed the frustration: "Celebrate his child? He has another one he never celebrates or acknowledges!" One angry fan added: "Harvey's better off without a 'Father' like this in his life! The audacity to post something like this when you've never given Harvey the time of day. Tells everyone what sort of 'Father' you are."
Many others pointed out that Orlando bears a striking resemblance to his half-brother, with one posting: "He's the spitting image of Harvey!"
Katie, 47, has previously said she doesn't even know if Orlando knows he has a half-brother, but that the door was always open if he or former Man United star Dwight wanted to build a relationship with Harvey.
She has repeatedly criticised Dwight for his lack of involvement in Harvey's life, claiming he "didn't give a s**t."
"Even after he said that, I was still trying to be persistent. I wanted Harvey to have his dad in his life, but he just wasn't interested in any of it."
The glamour star recently shared the tough news that she had to pull Harvey out of his £350,000-a-year college after the local council withdrew his funding, claiming he had "no healthcare issues" despite him requiring around-the-clock care.
Express.co.uk has contacted' Dwight's representatives for comment.
