Borussia Dortmund are reportedly set to reignite their interest in Liverpool's Harvey Elliott. The young playmaker is expected to be a hot prospect for top German clubs this summer, with Dortmund, who expressed interest in January, likely to lead the pursuit.
However, Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso, now at the helm of Bayer Leverkusen, could lure Elliott with the promise of Champions League football. Newcastle United are also said to be keeping tabs on Elliott's situation as they aim to bolster their wide-right options in the off-season, according to the Mirror.
The versatile 22-year-old, who also caught the eye of Brighton, has two years remaining on his Anfield contract, with extension talks expected in the summer. If negotiations fall through, intermediaries are already suggesting a £45million price tag.
Elliott's representation by German-based agency ROOF could prove pivotal if he doesn't see a long-term future at Liverpool. As Liverpool prepare to face Fulham today, Elliott, a former Cottagers youth player, is yet to start a Premier League match under Reds manager Arne Slot.
