Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim sends message to four banished stars over transfer failure

Ruben Amorim has emphasised his desire for a squad fully dedicated to Manchester United's resurgence following their most disappointing Premier League season to date. However, the United boss insists that four banished stars will be welcomed back if they fail to find new clubs.

Amorim made the decision to exclude four players - Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia - from his US tour squad, while Marcus Rashford has secured a loan move to Barcelona. Amorim stressed the importance of forging a strong team spirit, particularly with new recruits Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, as United look to bounce back from a dismal 15th-place finish last season. "I think in any team, if you see the best teams in the world, you feel the bond between all the players," Amorim stated. I think that is really important. Then I think we need to remind ourselves how special it is to be at Manchester United. That is my feeling. It's the best club in the world. It should be that way for everyone who is on the pitch with our club.

"So I really like that feeling. I really like to be in a group that is healthy. We're going to suffer. We will have some problems. But that feeling of bonding from everybody - from the staff, from the players, with the technical staff, is really important. I think it can help us to win some games that we are not performing so well. But something happened because the spirit is positive. If we have to start the season with this squad I'm happy, because all the players who are here want to be here.

"With Matheus and Bryan, the best thing is that they chose to be here. They had other options, Champions League options and they read everything people say about our club in this moment. But they chose to be here and that is a key point for me."

While United are keen to offload Garnacho, Sancho, Antony, and Malacia to fund additional signings, Amorim insists they won't be sold on the cheap. "There are different reasons for the players [left behind]," Amorim explained. "Some players have to find a new place to have more space in the team and other players clearly show they want a new challenge and want new teams.

"We are just allowing these players to have time to think and to decide. If we reach a point where they have to join the team, they will join the team because they are our players. I know for a fact, these people, Jason [Wilcox, technical director], Omar [Berrada, chief executive] and the club have a number for these players. If they don't reach that, they will be Manchester United players, no doubt about that.

"I understand the clubs are waiting for the last minute but they can have a surprise. I'm ready to receive the players, they have more competition, more competition if you want to play in the World Cup next year, so you need to play.

"I'm really happy with that because I have more options. If they have to fight each other to play one game a week, for me it's perfect."
