A gunman has reportedly stormed a catholic school in Minneapolis before opening fire, killing two people and injuring 20 others - 10 of them are in critical condition. Emergency services rushed to the scene, several children are said to be among those injured.
There is "no active threat" in the area now, a city official says, and the shooter is "contained".
The suspected shooter died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
In a statement on x Governor Tim Walz said he is "praying" for the kids and parents caught up in todays horrific incident.
He said: "I've been briefed on a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School and will continue to provide updates as we get more information. The BCA and State Patrol are on scene. I'm praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence."
