Trump made the speech after winning the key swing states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia. The conservative US network Fox News also projected Trump as the presidential winner.

Prior to Trump declaring himself the winner of the US election, Morgan revealed that his gut was telling him that the 78-year-old would return to the White House for the second time, thus beating Kamala Harris.

On X, formerly Twitter, the broadcaster shared a video of himself speaking on Fox News alongside the caption: "I had a feeling..."

In the video, the 59-year-old said: "My gut feeling - and I had this in 2016. People were laughing at me but I kept saying, 'I'm getting a feeling that the Trump train is steaming to victory.' And I'm getting that feeling again now."

He continued: "I've been in LA and New York. I'm getting a lot of people who did not vote Trump last time but who are prepared this time, even if they don't like it, they're prepared to vote for him this time to stop Kamala Harris becoming president."

Issuing his final verdict, Morgan added: "I'm going on my gut and I'm feeling he could actually end up winning quite big."

Whatever the outcome of the election, the former host vowed to interview Trump onto his YouTube show, Piers Morgan Uncensored.

A fan asked the presenter: "Piers, will you bring @realDonaldTrump on to the @PiersUncensored show if he wins the election?"

To which Morgan responded: "I'll bring him on if he wins or loses..."

Trump, who previously served as president between 2017 and 2021, will return to the White House after beating opponent Harris.

He has become the second president in history to win non-consecutive terms after securing the 270 electoral votes needed, according to figures from NBC.
