Brits have been left baffled by the sun tonight as it glowed red in the sky.
As it was setting on Wednesday at around 8pm, the giant star glowed an ominous pink and red, before the sky also lit up.
Just moments earlier it had been grey after an afternoon of showers, but it lit up pink, orange and red as the sun set.
Many took to X to express their surprise and all expressed a similar sentiment.
One person in London said: "The sun is bright red, what the f***!"
Another replied saying: "The apocalypse is among us." "It's scary," a third added.

Another person appeared less scared, adding: "The sun is red, so cool" followed by a heart eye emoji.
The reason for the blazing sky could be because light is travelling through the maximum amount of atmosphere during sunset.
LabXChange explains: "Due to this, more blue light gets scattered from the sunlight, making the sun look redder when it rises or sets."
The Met Office echoes this, adding: " Light travels from the Sun and through the atmosphere in invisible waves. Light that looks white to us, is actually made up of many different colours of differing wavelengths. For example, blue has a short wavelength, while red is created by longer wavelengths.
"At sunrise and sunset, the Sun is very low in the sky, which means that the sunlight we see has travelled through a much thicker amount of atmosphere. Because blue light is scattered more strongly by the atmosphere, it tends to be scattered several times and deflected away in other directions before it gets to us. This means that there is relatively more yellow and red light left for us to see."
