Weather maps show chilly conditions could hit the UK in August with some places set to see a huge drop in temperatures. After warmer temperatures have hit the UK over July, cooler weather is on the way.
This news will be welcomed by some while others might wish the scorching heat would make a return. Maps from forecaster WxCharts show that on Friday, August 1, at midnight, some parts of Scotland will see a drop in temperatures. Fort William in Scotland could even see lows of just 5C.

The warmest temperatures in Scotland will be 11C while the coldest will be 5C.
A wind chill index map shows that temperatures will be warmer south of York with large parts of England and Wales to see between 10C to 20C.
However, in the north of England, including Cumbria and Newcastle, it will be around 10C or below.
Despite the chiller conditions in the north and up towards Scotland, London and the south of England could see highs of 23C.
Wales will see temperatures of 15C to 20C while in Cornwall temperatures will sit at around 17C.
As for the midlands, temperatures will be around 18C with Birmingham, Nottingham, Coventry and Wolverhampton to see this warmth.
A Met Office forecast says: "The end of July and first part of August will probably see a continuation of similar weather to the previous week or so - this being generally rather changeable with spells of rain or showers mixed in with some drier, brighter days.
"Towards mid-August, there are tentative signs that high pressure may become rather more dominant, which would bring more in the way dry, settled weather more widely."
It adds that temperatures are expected to continue to run above average overall, with a greater likelihood, compared to the preceding couple of weeks, of very warm or hot spells to develop by mid-August, especially further south and east.
