The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued important notification regarding the registration and examination schedule. According to a recently released notice, the Commission is introducing Aadhaar-based biometric authentication for all its examinations starting May 2025. Simultaneously, in another notice, the Commission has confirmed that its examination calendar for 2025–26 is currently under review, with a revised schedule expected to be published shortly.
Aadhaar verification at centre and registration stage
Effective May 2025, candidates appearing for SSC exams will have the option to verify their identity using Aadhaar at three critical junctures: during online registration, while submitting the examination application form, and at the examination centre on the day of the test.
While the Commission has clarified that Aadhaar authentication will remain voluntary, it is being positioned as a tool to streamline the examination process and tighten security checks. The biometric data will be used to authenticate candidates in real time, significantly reducing the chances of impersonation and identity-related malpractices.
