Sunita Ahuja, wife of Bollywood star Govinda, opened up about the challenges of being married to a popular actor in a recent interview with Deccan Talks With Asif. Known for her outspoken nature, Sunita candidly admitted that dealing with link-up rumours and her husband’s time with co-stars wasn’t easy, but she remained unfazed through it all.
“It’s been 38 years,” she said, reflecting on their long marriage. “All these link-ups used to happen back in the days when we were young. I didn’t hear a lot of rumours, and even if I did, I didn’t bother. I am a very strong-headed person.”
When asked if she trusted Govinda through all those years, she replied, “I used to trust him, I can’t say I trust him now.”
'They spend more time with heroines, not their wives'
Sharing what it takes to be married to a film star, she said, “Dil pe patthar rakhna padta hai hero ki biwi hone ke liye. They spend most of their time with their heroines, and not their wives. I really love Govinda from the bottom of my heart and I will always love him.”

Sunita also voiced her desire to see Govinda back in films. However, she pointed out that his health needs attention. “Being his wife, I am still waiting for him and his films. I can understand his fans' anxiety. Govinda should work. He first needs to look at his health and lose at least 20 kgs.”
Govinda and Sunita secretly tied the knot in 1987 and revealed their relationship only after the birth of their daughter Tina in 1988.
