Actor Vijay Varma sparked intense discussion online after posting his reaction to Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces' recent retaliatory strike against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Taking to Instagram, Vijay shared a video and captioned it as, “Taste your own medicine.”
When his post drew criticism from some quarters, the Darlings actor posted a sharp follow-up message that read, “For those who are triggered by the previous story… Masood Azhar needs an even harsher punishment if there is. Hardened criminal."
He also claimed that Azhar 'escaped justice' back in 1999 with IC814 hijacking. His post referenced Azhar’s release in exchange for hostages during the 1999 Kandahar hijacking.
According to reports, the Jaish-e-Mohammad chief, lost 10 members in the operation.
Besides Vijay, Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar and several others also took to Instagram to support the Indian Armed Forces. Alia said in her post, “I salute our armed forces today and every day. Jai Hind.”
Operation Sindoor
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the operation was a “measured and non-escalatory” response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 citizens, including that of a Nepali tourist. Nine key terror sites were reportedly targeted in Pakistan and PoK.
