Dez Bryant claims Travis Hunter's route stumble is nothing


In the clip, Travis Hunter stumbles running a route during a practice drill. This made some fans wonder if he can play receiver in the NFL. But Dez Bryant was quick to come to the young man's defense. "Bruh.. I promise Travis Hunter routes on air is meaningless… watch him with the football in his hand!," Bryant posted on Twitter. "Watch him with the ball in his hand!





Dez Bryant also referenced the video and added, "Rate these routes by Travis Hunter from 0-10," reminding everyone Travis Hunter can do more than run routes. His speed, vision, and playmaking after the catch have been evident since college. Even if the clip depicts an error, it's just a blip on a long radar beam.


Will it take time for Travis Hunter to adjust to a new playbook and team?

Travis Hunter is adjusting to a new coaching staff, teammates, and system. He had all his collegiate years with quarterback Shedeur Sanders, so there will be a transition period. Running routes with fresh timing and studying a pro playbook is challenging for any rookie much more challenging for a guy playing on both sides of the ball.


Despite the misstep, Travis Hunter's ability isn't questioned. He is one of the most thrilling players in years, and the Jaguars do believe in him. Mistakes in initial practices are always the norm, and Travis Hunter is only just beginning.
