Looking ahead, it is projected to reach INR 802.5 Billion by 2033, exhibiting a CAGR of 6.72% during 2025-2033. And this growth has given a wider scope to the homegrown brands to mark their presence in India and abroad. The same reflected at the recent Asia Beer Challenge 2025, where 2 Indian beer brands won 6 awards for 6 different categories.
BeeYoung Beyond produced by Kimaya Himalayan Beverages LLP won a gold medal for International Style Pilsner category. They also won a silver medal for BeeYoung Crafted Strong for Strong Lager category.
The Devans Modern Breweries Ltd SixFields Cult Finest Strong Wheat Beer won a silver medal in the Dubbel Wit/Imperial White category. Six Fields Blanche Finest Wheat Beer, recognized for its crisp, clean and refreshing taste with light spicy notes also made waves and was awarded the silver in the Witbier category at the Asian Beer Challenge. Meanwhile, Godfather The Legendary Luxury Lager Beer received Bronze in the Australasian, Latin American or Tropical-Style Light Lager category, establishing it as a premium easy-drinking balanced beer with 5% ABV.
DeVANS Godfather Super 8 won gold in the Strong Lager category, validating it as Asia’s best strong beer which at 8% ABV delivers a memorable, smooth punch.
As per the online PDF report of the winners, Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel unfiltriert, produced by Brauerei Aying Franz Inselkammer KG, won the double gold medal, which is bottom-fermented, naturally cloudy, dark export beer with 5.0% alcohol content and original gravity of 12.8°.
For the unversed, the Asia Beer Challenge is one of the biggest and most prestigious beer competitions, attracting elite producers from fast-growing regions where 50% of global beer consumption occurs and includes China, India, Japan, and beyond. Organized by Peak Publishing Limited, the event features a triple-blind tasting by over 100 top Asian beer buyers.
It is reported that the jury panel carefully analyse the entries by a strict process of blind tasting. And then judges take into consideration all elements of each beer including the appearance, flavour profile, aromas, and structure. This impartial and thorough approach ensures that each beer is tasted objectively and has the opportunity to compete with the world’s leading beer brands.
