NEW DELHI: In a session organized by the Merchant Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, described the recent meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping as “very important.” The two leaders, meeting formally for the first time in five years on October 23 during the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, reached what Xu called “important common understandings” that could steer India-China relations back on a path of “steady development.”
