Rapper Cardi B made a spirited endorsement for Kamala Harris at a Milwaukee rally , expressing her support for the Democratic candidate and her discontent with Donald Trump ’s policies on women’s rights. Her passionate remarks drew loud cheers, as she denounced Trump’s “misogynistic and oppressive” approach.
Cardi B admitted that she wasn’t initially planning to vote, but Harris’s entry changed her mind. “I wasn’t gonna vote this year,” she said, before adding, “Kamala Harris joining the race changed my mind completely. I didn’t have faith in any candidates until she stepped in and said the things I wanted to hear.”
During her speech, she labelled Trump a “bully” and commended Harris’s resilience, noting their shared dislike for bullies. “Let me tell you something—I can’t stand a bully, but just like Kamala, I always stand up to one,” Cardi B said, aligning herself with Harris on this front.
The rapper took issue with Trump’s approach to women’s rights, particularly his promise to “protect” women. “If his definition of protection is making sure our daughters have fewer rights than our mothers, then I don’t want it,” she declared. Cardi B criticized Trump’s restrictive stance on women’s healthcare, adding, “We all knew Trump was a hustler, but hustling women out of their rights is nasty work.”
Cardi B also voiced support for Harris’s economic policies , saying she believed in her commitment to tackling high costs and supporting affordable healthcare . “I believe her when she says under her, buying eggs and milk won’t break the bank because she’s going to pass a ban on price gouging,” she explained. She also pointed out Harris’s promises of affordable housing assistance and middle-class tax cuts, stating, “She’s promising $25,000 in down payment assistance and tax cuts for 100 million middle-class families.”
In a rallying call to the crowd, Cardi B urged people to “turn out and turn up” on Election Day. “I’m not giving Donald Trump a second chance… I’m with Kamala, I believe in her, and America, I believe in you,” she proclaimed, encouraging her audience to “turn the page” in the upcoming election.
While Cardi B’s endorsement received enthusiastic support, some Republicans took to social media to criticise her. One X user remarked, “Cardi B is just straight up reading a script off her phone at the Kamala rally lmao,” a dig at the rapper’s use of her phone notes during the speech.
