Bryan Kohberger has reportedly agreed to plead guilty to the brutal murders of four University of Idaho students as part of a plea deal with prosecutors to avoid the death penalty , according to multiple media outlets.
Kohberger, 30, is accused of fatally stabbing Ethan Chapin , Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves in November 2022 at an off-campus rental home in Moscow, Idaho. Autopsy reports indicated the victims were likely asleep during the attack, with some showing signs of defensive wounds. Each victim was stabbed multiple times.
Reacting to the development, the Goncalves family expressed their anger in a Facebook post: "We are beyond furious at the State of Idaho. They have failed us. Please give us some time. This was very unexpected."

The update was shared with the victims’ families in a letter.
