Brittany Miller , a 29-year-old influencer from Oxfordshire, England, has shocked everyone online. The TikTok star , who has over 3.5 million followers, has finally admitted that she lied about having cancer in 2017. According to The Sun, Brittany faked having stage 3 stomach cancer when she was 21 years old. Back then, many people felt sorry for her and even donated money through a fundraising page made by her friends.
But after years of silence, the truth is now out. The Sun report, along with People and Newsweek, confirmed that Brittany Miller’s story was not real. In a video posted on November 10, 2025, she confessed that she made up the cancer story during a very dark time when she was depressed and suicidal. She also said she never used any of the money from the fundraiser.
Brittany Miller’s fake cancer story and what really happened
Back in 2017, Brittany Miller told her friends she had been diagnosed with cancer. Soon after, one of her friends made a fundraiser on “Just Giving” to support her. Many people sent her kind messages and some even donated. But soon after, Brittany’s story started to look strange.
According to The Sun, some of her old friends later came forward and said she had lied to everyone. One friend said, “Brittany lied to us all, her friends and her followers.” Another friend told the outlet that Brittany even claimed she was getting radiotherapy and hospital treatment when she really wasn’t.
Later, police confirmed to The Sun that Brittany had been charged with “fraud by false representation.” In July 2020, she was convicted in court, given a 12-month conditional discharge, and told to pay compensation and costs.
When People reached out, Brittany Miller said she lied because she was deeply depressed, had lost her job, and felt her life was falling apart. She said, “I was suicidal. I didn’t know what to do. I told one lie, and then it grew.” She added that she didn’t spend any of the money and closed the fundraiser when she saw donations coming in.
Now, Brittany Miller says she wants to take responsibility for what she did. She also said she regrets everything and wants to be better.
