Gangolli: A case has been registered against Prashanti M., a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Maravante Fishermen’s Cooperative Society in Gangolli, for allegedly misappropriating funds during her tenure and failing to repay the amount despite a court directive.
According to the complaint filed by the society’s current CEO, Gangadhar, Prashanti misused ₹12,42,175 during her term as CEO between 2013-14 and 2018-19. The Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies had earlier ruled that she must return the misappropriated amount to the society.
However, despite the ruling, Prashanti allegedly failed to repay the money, leading to fresh legal action for cheating and financial misconduct.
