Mangaluru: Clash breaks out between undertrials in district jail, security tightened

Mangaluru: A fight broke out between two groups of undertrial prisoners at the district jail in Kodialbail, Mangaluru, on Monday night, according to police sources.

The clash reportedly involved accused in the Suhas Shetty murder case and members of a rival gang. Naushad, the main accused in the Suhas Shetty case, was allegedly attacked by a group of fellow inmates during the altercation.

The incident occurred around 7 pm, prompting ACP Pratap Singh Thorat to rush to the spot. Security has been tightened in and around the prison premises following the clash.

Senior police officials are expected to issue a detailed statement soon.
