Several parts of the coastal region witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and strong winds on Saturday evening. The weather across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts were cloudy from the morning, and showers were reported in city by evening.
Rainfall was reported from Puttur, Balnadu, Bettampady, Badagannur, Kadaba, Alankaru, Uppinangady, Hirebandady, Belthangady, Bandaru, Karikkal, Sullia, Punacha, Bayaru, Bantwal, Karkala, Kundapur and nearby areas.
Hot and humid weather with yellow alert issued
Despite the cloud cover in the morning, Mangaluru city experienced hot and humid conditions throughout the day. The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 34.1°C, while the minimum stood at 25°C.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s forecast, there is a high chance of thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rain on April 6 and 7. A “Yellow Alert” has been issued for the coastal region in anticipation of adverse weather conditions.
