JAIPUR, INDIA — In a progressive move to empower families from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, the Rajasthan government has rolled out the CM Vivah Shagun Yojana, also known as the Mukhyamantri Kanyadaan Yojana. Under this initiative, eligible girls are entitled to receive up to ₹51,000 in financial aid for their wedding, provided they meet the required criteria.

The scheme, aimed at promoting gender equity and reducing the financial burden of marriage, is now open for applications. It seeks to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder the marriage prospects of daughters from low-income households.

Eligibility Requirements to Apply

To benefit from the CM Vivah Shagun Yojana, applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

• The girl must be at least 18 years old.

• The family’s annual income must be less than ₹2.5 lakh.

• The applicant must be a resident of Rajasthan.

• She should have completed at least the 10th grade.

• The girl should not have any regular source of income.

These eligibility requirements aim to ensure the scheme reaches only those who genuinely need the assistance.

Tiered Financial Support Based on Education

The Rajasthan government has structured the financial assistance to incentivize education among girls:

• Uneducated girls receive ₹31,000.

• Girls who have completed 10th grade receive ₹41,000.

• Girls who have passed the 12th grade are eligible for the full amount of ₹51,000, directly transferred to their bank accounts.

This tiered system not only supports families financially but also encourages girls to pursue education.
